HydroIQ works with standard latching drip solenoids — the type used across battery- and solar-powered drip systems from the major irrigation brands. If you already run latching drip valves, HydroIQ drives them directly without an adapter. Standard 1/2", 3/4", and 1" plastic globe valve bodies are supported.
The mechanical valve body of most common 24VAC valves is fully compatible — a low-cost coil-swap kit replaces only the solenoid coil. The swap takes about a minute per valve with no plumbing changes.
Most major-brand 1/2", 3/4", and 1" plastic globe valves use one of a few coil form factors that we already support. Email hello@hydroiq.us with the manufacturer, series, and a photo of your existing solenoid coil, and we will confirm fit within 2 business days.
HydroIQ ships with RS485 Modbus soil sensors as standard. The controller also supports third-party sensors that speak the most common digital protocols used in the industry. See your Hydro Controller's bundled documentation for pin-out and provisioning details.
The HydroIQ fertigation module uses a quick-disconnect cartridge interface with cartridge auto-detect (at launch). We fully support third-party cartridges — there is no firmware lockout. If your cartridge isn't auto-recognized, you can manually configure its NPK profile through the app.
